Our latest The Friendly BenchⓇ opens in Hillmorton, Rugby

On 30th September we were very proud to officially handover our latest The Friendly BenchⓇ to the Friends of East Rugby Group (FERG), thanks to funding from National Lottery.

Working with FERG, a dedicated group of volunteers who work very hard to bring the community of Hillmorton together, The Friendly BenchⓇ has been installed right in the heart of the community on the village green, were it will bring people of all ages together, including school children and older members of the community, all of who live within walking distance of it.

Jill Dwyer, Chair, FERG said, “We are really excited that we have been successful to get the first Friendly BenchⓇ to be installed in Warwickshire and I am proud that Hillmorton has one of the first wave of these amazing facilities to be installed across England. We think it will be a positive addition for the whole community to use.”

As with all of our The Friendly BenchⓇ, not only is it a beautiful place to sit, The Friendly BenchⓇ Rugby will be an active social hub, and FERG already have events planned, including a “Halloween Surprise” taking place on 30th and 31st October.

This The Friendly BenchⓇ has been made possible thanks to players of the National Lottery and is one of 10 The Friendly Benches supported by The National Lottery Community Fund which are being installed across the England this year and next, including Rotherham, Ipswich, Chester and Halesowen to name a few.
